Following the Government announcement to allow indoor gyms and leisure facilities to reopen, we have taken our time to thoroughly read all the guidelines that will apply to the Pavilion building regarding social distancing, customer flow, equipment spacing, use of changing rooms and toilet facilities.
Taking all restrictions into account, we have concluded that we will not be able to reopen the Pavilion until the end of August at the earliest unless regulations are eased further. Below we have explained our key decision points.
Since reopening the hotel, we have seen a real lack of awareness from guests and visitors alike to the social distancing measures in place across the resort, designed to keep both our guests and our teams safe. The internal corridors of the Pavilion are extremely narrow, in addition to the main reception area being a real pinch point in the building. We are not satisfied that we can provide a safe enough working environment for our team.
We are extremely limited on the number of people (including staff) that are able to populate the building at any one time, meaning that the reopening of the Pavilion is not commercially viable.
We are extremely disappointed to have reached this decision and will be reviewing all guidelines constantly. We will keep you informed if matters change.
We are aware that some members continue to pay monthly standing orders or have paid for their year in full. If this applies to you, please email email@example.com and we will refund your membership from when the Pavilion was closed, and start new, as we reopen.
